Beginning to Learn About Web Security and Hacking

Internet is a media which allows us to connect and found the thing we are looking for. By all of the easiness, internet was able to anesthetize everyone to use it. Currently, the number of internet user has been growth rapidly. This is cause website realms growth rapidly too. Many people create website or blog with various aims. there are  for expression of opinion, diary, support tool of business, and even make money online.
Amid mounting this growth of site realms, several irresponsible people appear to take unilateral advantage. Their action harm others. They stealing data and deface of others website, stealing private data, even break into the bank accounts through the internet. They are what we called as Hacker.
As a website or blog owner, it is a mandatory thing to know about web security and how hacking works. At least, This is to avoid you website or blog touched by irresponsible hands. Usually, for blog which use famous platform like blogger/blogspot and wordpress is safer because it was designed very safe by default and it database hosted at big server which is very safe too(google data center and wordpress server). But, it is not reason for you to don't know about web security.
However, It is different if you build website or blog yourself and hosted at yourself hosting. You need high skill to build strong security for your website. Therefore, here is the important reason why you must learn about website security and hacking. Learn about hacking is not mean you will become a hacker. it is just to know how hacking works in order you can prepare to avoid it when someone attack your site.

About my learning
myself also just beginning to learn about it. I use www.ilmuhacking.com as my source. My desire to learn it has been there about a month ago. But, just now i can learn it. My motivation actually is not only for secure my website. Other motivation is because i want to hack some website which contains racial intolerance elements and other which violate the law.
About two month ago, I felt in indonesia appeared several facebook fanspages which contains racial intolerance. I very hate it. Then, I also found many website which contains similar contents. So, I decide to hack them in order my country is free from cleavage and stick together.

How Duplicate Contents Make My Blog SERP Down

I just want to share story and experience for you. Because, this experience i feel very useful and important for you as a blogger. This post actually i wanted to share since about 2 months ago, When this problem just occurred. This is a sad story. So i share this in order you never run into similar problem: Down of SERP.

SERP (Seach Engines Result Pages) is the listing of results returned by a search engine in response to a keyword query. The results normally include a list of items with titles, a reference to the full version, and a short description showing where the Keywords have matched content within the page. A SERP may refer to a single page of links returned, or to the set of all links returned for a search query.(wikipedia)
So, SERP of blog is the indexed and displayed blog pages in search engines. The more blog pages displayed in search engines, The better the SERP. This is bring much organic visitors to your blog.

Well, This is about my other blog, www.blogberbagi.com. some times ago i have shared that www.blogberbagi is seemed recovered from that problem: Decrease of SERP which causes visitors be a little. But, it turns out that's just in a few days, about a week. So, Now that blog is back to down SERP again and make me abandon that blog. www.blogberbagi.com seems has been difficult to repaired anymore. though i could have if see about it with the consequences i must do some research again that maybe need much time. But, That's doesn't allow because now i too busy.

www.blogberbagi.com began have this problem in beginning of October 2012. This problem occurred because an increase in the number of duplicate description, missing title tag and duplicate title significantly. That data known from google webmaster tools. The increase of three above occurred because at that time i was explored meta tag of blog. www.blogberbagi.com became mice, so it was exposed to the risk.



The duplicate description cause the search engines (especially google) consider that my blog contains duplicate contents. whereas that is just duplicate descriptions of any posts because error of meta description. But, google doesn't know the actual because it is just a robot. We have known that google have new algorithm which called google penguin. google penguin is designed to block and kick the sites detected as spam from search engine. Surely, the sites which contains duplicate contents include to spam sites. So, is something reasonable if my SERP blog was down, because considered as spam site.

At that time, there are hundreds of duplicate description in www.blogberbagi.com. At that time, I immediately to solve that problem. Then, I got the solution. I changed meta description and finally the duplicate description was stopped to increase again. The condition is gradually improved so the visitors increase again.



However, The temptation is not until here. After some weeks the problem above solved, i interested to an archive calendar widget from a site. This widget is became source of problem. For whatever reason, this widget made duplicate description again. this time was caused by index of archive pages or pagination pages by search engines. We know that pagination pages have no specific title and description. in addition, that's always updated.  So, Those pages use default title and description of blog and make duplicate with blog description.

The duplicate descriptions was increased again. Even this time was more, until almost 3000 duplicates. That was made SERP down and the visitors be little again. I immediately search the way to solve this. Then, I got solution. That is by enable and edit custom robots header tags. I made my blog archive didn't indexed by search engine. Evidently, this way was worked so the duplicate description number decreased until about 700 from 2500+. The number of visitors increased again. This is that made me wrote "www.blogberbagi.com seemed to have recovered now".

But, maybe because 700 duplicate descriptions is still too much and i rarely post in that blog, The SERP down again until now. The visitors back to fuckin little number, even more severe than previously. This is make me abandon that blog now. I have tired and desperate to manage  www.blogberbagi.com again.

Www.blogberbagi.com Seemed to Have Recovered Now

My other blog > BAGI-BAGI ILMU with URL www.blogberbagi.com seemed to have recovered from a problem that happened. Well, that problem had happened from about 2 month ago. The problem is the technical error in meta tag, exactly in meta description setting. because this problem, visitors number of my blog decreased until about 75%. My blog pageviews which before totaled about 1500-2000+ per day became only 100-500 pageviews per day. It's a very drastic decrease.

That technical error made so many duplicate meta description so the search engines (especially google) consider my blog contained too many duplicate contents. All of my post description in search engines is same with homepage description. while, actually no duplicate contents in my blog. The result is my blog had decrease of SERP in google. Only some articles pillar that still survive in first position in google.

Actually, this problem is not expand again on the end of last October, because i changed the meta tag though can't solve it. But, other trouble came when i install a widget archive in that blog. This widget is make duplicate contents again and make the problem worse. I almost frustrated by this trouble. But, I face this problem by presence of mind. I began to searching the ways to solve it. Not only that, I also make some research with meta tag and file robots.txt. finally I got the way to solve this trouble. This way make the duplicate descriptions decrease. This way i used and worked about from a week ago. I also very happy because the visitors who had lost back again now. It is the sign that google gift good SERP again for my blog. It also proven when i type "BAGI-BAGI ILMU" keyword in google search engines, then i got my blog occupied the First position in page 2. It is a improvement because before my blog can't found until page 10.

This is goolge webmaster tools data. This is the HTML improvement after the problem solve. The duplicate meta description not yet lost all, but it is had drastic decrease from about 2000+. each google index and update, duplicate meta description and other had decrease.

Sorry, I can't give you the complete data when the problem not solved yet. i just can documented this. The following is duplicate title tags before the problem solved. there are almost 1000 duplicate title tags that caused by label and archive widget in blog. It's not total because there are still other duplicate title. compare with the duplicate title tags above.

Actually, on other side i feel lucky got this problem. Because, this problem give me a valuable experience in blogging. It is make me did some research in meta tag and robot.txt file that make my knowledge increased. well, maybe that's all my valuable experience. what about you ?
