How to Add Google+ badge to Your Website and Wordpress blog

Maybe, You have read my tutorial which talks about How to add google+ widget for blogger/blogspot. But, I feel i have not been completed if i just post that tutorial  for blogger only. Bloggers in the world don't only use blogger/blogspot as their platform. Some of them also use wordpress or other blogging tools. Even, Maybe some of them also build their blog themselves, without any tools (In this article i called it as "Independent website").

Therefore, Here i will give tutorial for wordpress blog and independent website about how to add google+ badge to site interface. Here I only talk about google+ badge. This because this tutorial is more complicated than previous tutorial (Tutorial for Blogger/blogspot). For tutorial about other google+ platforms, i will post it later. Than you do not understand, it's better I discuss them one by one, right?

Before, I must explain what is google+ badge ?.. Google+ badge is a Goggle+ platform for website that allows to connect your profile or website page in Google+ to your website. So, There are two kinds of google+ badge, those are badge for personal profile and badge for Google+ page. Installed Profile badge on your website/blog allows you to added to cirlces by your website visitors. While, Installed Google+ page badge allows your Google+ page being followed by your website/Blog visitors.
That's cool stuff, right?

Well, To add Google+ badge, Let's follow the tutorial below..

-How To Install Google+ Badges For Wordpress Site-

1. Log in to your Wordpress Blog Dashboard.

2. Go to Plugins > Add New.

3. In search box, Type "Google+ badge", then Click "Search Plugins".

4. There are some result for your search. Choose one which most suitable with your search (usually the first order of results).

5. Click "Install Now" below the title of plugin.

6. The plugin is downloading now. Wait  for about less than 10 minutes. The duration is dependent on your internet connection speed, plugin size, and server of plugin creator.

7. After the plugin have downloaded and installed, then activate it.

8. Next, Go to Setting menu > Google plus badge.

9. You will redirect to Google+ badge setting. Here you can set your badge performance.

10. The important point is : you must put your profile or google+ page id at first of your setting. If you don't know your id. just go to profile page of google+ account and see the Url/address bar. There are 21 digits of id number.


11. if you have finished set your badge, Save setting and your badge will be displayed. Your badge displayed by slide style (hover), Like the image below.

 
The badge will appear when cursor touch google+ icon. You can change the position in Google+ badge setting.

*This tutorial is just for Self-hosted wordpress blog (hosted in wordpress.org or other web hosting services). This is not apply for free wordpress blog which hosted in wordpress.com. This because wordrpess.com don't support plugins installation manually.

-How To Install Google+ Badge For Independent Website-

This is actually general ways to add google+badge. This tutorial apply for all kind of websites/blogs with any blogging tools (Which allows you to edit source codes).

1. Before you add google+ bagde to your Website, you should to log in to your google+ account.

2. Next, Visit this https://developers.google.com/+/plugins/badge/

3. You will find the page of Google+ badge configuration to be installed on your blog.

4. Choose the account which you want use for your badge. As i explained above, you can choose personal profile or google+ page account.

5. You also can configure your Google+ bagde. Just set as you like. Even, you also can manage advanced options. Advanced options is for badge style and compability.

7. if you have finished set it, Drag and Copy the code.

8. Log in to your website administrator.

9. Choose the html/php file which you want to add badge.
Usually, google+ badge installed in homepage your website. So, choose and edit index.php or index.html file.

10. Put the codes copied anywhere you like your badge displayed, provided that still between <body> and </body>.

11. Save and your Google+ badge installed.

*Change {profileId/pageid} by your profile or page id.
*Remove rel="author" if your bagde for Google+ page.
*if you want do the general ways to wordpress. Just copied one of the three codes above.
The steps : Login to wordpress Blog dashboard > appearance > widget > text(arbitrary text or html) > paste the code > save and finish.

Mention Your Google+ Friend In Your Blog Post

Probably, This post is late because this feature was released about a week ago. Some blogs like this blog also have been publish similar post like this. However, probably among of you there are still don't know about this feature. So, i will explain you.

Google team seemed continue to develop their products. Well, one of which is by further integrated Google+ and Blogger. Some times ago, we can integrate our Google+ account with blogger. Now, we can mention the peoples in our circles in Google+ into our blog posts. This as if make our blog post is Google+ post too.

Surely, this feature is make us more comfort to blogging in blogger. Google team also don't add this feature by useless. There are some advantages of this features. that is :

1. Now, Google+ is one of social networking sites which able to compete with Facebook. This is caused by increase of user number day by day. By this feature, we can tell many people in our circle in Google+ that you posted an articles in your blog. The people whom mentioned will accept a notification because your mention. If they interested to your post, they will visit your site to read it. So, you get extra visitors from that. This feature is a good SMO tricks to build your visitors and introduce your blog to the world.

2. If your post is good and useful for them, your authority increased  either in Google+ or Blogger.

How to Mention People in google+ circle in Blog Post?

Well, it is very easy..
1. Surely you need an account of Google+ and integrate it to your blogger account.
2. Create a new post in blogger
3. Then, Just type '+' in compose, followed by name whom you mention. See the image below.

The list of name people in your circle usually will appear when you type + followed by initial letter of name. You just to choose them.

-Notice and Tips-
Though this feature is very useful. But, it doesn't rule out the possibility that this feature will harm you. So, See the tips below to avoid you from it negative effects:

1. Don't ever to mention people in your blog posts which is you know that is not useful and apply for them. You will considered as spammer.

2. Don't flood and arbitrarily to mention many people in your post while you don't know what's your posts is useful for them?.

3. Just mention people whom you know that they are indeed need your post.

4. Don't too many to mention people in your posts. Because, maybe it will ruin your main content.

5. Don't too often to mention someone though firstly he was felt your post is useful. However, He will bored if you flood him.

The conclusion is be wise and professional in use any features. Just take the advantages and throw the disadvantages..

How to Submit/Register Your Blog/Site to Google Webmaster Tools

After you read the previous article : "google webmaster tools and the features", i sure, you want to use google webmaster tools because the advantages that i said in previous article, Right?. Probably, when you will use google webmaster tools for your site, you confuse to do it ?
Well, the first step is submit your site to google webmaster tools. So, in this article i will explain you how to submit or register your blog/site to google webmaster tools.
Okay, just follow the steps below :

1. You must have a google account. if you not registered yet, just sign up to google.

2. After you have a google account, just visit google webmaster tools and sign in by your google account.

3. After you log in, See and click the button "Add A Site" on right top corner.




4. Just fill the textbox with your site/blog url.

5. Then, Follow the way to verify your site. make sure you followed by right.




6. After you done the step 5, just Click "verify" on the same page.

7. Finish, your site verified and you can use google webmaster tools.

*for you who use blogger/blogspot platform, generally your blog has registered automatically. you just verify your site, then you can use google webmaster tools.

google webmaster tools is webmaster tools owned by google and the best webmaster tools now. Google webmater tools is so important to used because it is related with your SEO in google search engine. you surely have been known that google search engine is the visitors source of most sites in the world. About 80% of the blogs/sites visitors in the world is source from google search engine.

I think This feature is most important. Because it is to optimize your site on google search engine. Optimization divided become 6 menu. they are :
-Sitemaps. To submit your sitemaps of your site to google search engine
-Remove URLs. To remove the url(page,post, and other url) on site that indexed or detected by google crawler.
-HTML improvements. To check HTML improvements of site.
-Content keywords. To know what the keywords used by google search engine user to find the content of your site. the keyword is arranged from the keyword that most used to least used.
-Structured data. To see your Structured data of your site.
-Other resources.

5. Labs
it is for testing and experimenting your site on google search engine. Labs divided become 4 menu. they are :
-Author stats. to see the author statistics.
-Custom Search. to test your site result on google search engine. the result is only your site and the contents.
-Instant Previews.
-Site performance.

Well.. As guessed by many bloggers, Google have been updated pagerank of any sites this month, exactly on November 7th. Before, google pagerank have been updated on august, may, and februari ago. Google Pagerank updated once at 3 month. So, If you not yet check your pagerank Now, Just Visit one of these sites and check your PR :

I believe, among of you surely there have pagerank increase on this month. It is a reward from google. I just say Congratulation for you who have pagerank increase on this month :).. for you who have no  increase, Be patient and keep spirit to blogging. just search more backlinks for your blog. Or maybe you have reduction of your Pagerank?. Don't be sad. Matt cutt said "Pagerank is a little thing in search engine marketing". indeed pagerank is influence for your SERP, But Pagerank is not everything for your blog success. there are many thing that must you do your your Blog. Keep spirit Blogging ;)

some of Bloggers have pagerank reduction too. Maybe, there are wrong link building tehnique on their blogs. usually, wrong tehnique of link building that blogger done is linking their blog from blog dummies(because it will considered backlink spamming by google), and linking from sites that considered bad by google.

For My own, i have no Pagerank increase for this Blog. Maybe it because this blog is too new and have too poor backlink. But, on my Other Blog, www.blogberbagi.com, I have pagerank increase from 0 to 1. this is Not bad.
